Nam Ô fish salad

It would not be enough if we mentioned Danang cuisine without seafood. This salad is made of raw fish. So that, not everyone dares to try. Noodles with fishcake

Fishcake noodle soup is a truly remarkable dishes of Vietnamese cuisine that can addict anyone. There are 2 types of fishcake: fried and steamed. The broth of fishcake noodle soup is from pumpkin, pig bone/chicken, cabbage,steamed fresh bamboo shoots,ground into pulp, pineapple, tomatoes, chili and some other extra ingredients.

Crispy Vietnamese pancake( Banh xeo)

If you visit Viet Nam, do not miss out Banh Xeo. Banh xeo is made from rice flour mix with turmeric powder, coconut milk, some salt and filled with boiled pork, shrimp, bean sprouts and spring onion.

It named of ” Xeo” is because of sizzling sound when pouring the batter into the hot pan. Each province will make different Banh Xeo. Banh Xeo Danang is a special food where you use rice paper to wrap pork and prawn satay, raw banana slices, pickled mango and all the herbs. Then dip into some kind of peanut sauce. Very yummy.

Where To Go

Dragon Bridge

Da Nang is named “the city of bridges” due to its collection of 6 bridges with different histories and structures. The most famous one among them is the Dragon Bridge, which took the name from its design of a gigantic golden dragon. It is also one of the longest bridges in Vietnam, with 666m in length and 6 lanes, connecting the Da Nang airport to main streets in the city.

Near the head of the dragon there is the “Love Lock” Bridge. It is launched in May 2015 and soon became a special place for couples. Inspired by other famous love lock bridges in the world, this bridge has hundreds of small locks craved with names and words of love. In the evening, many red lanterns are lit up, creating heart-shaped lamps along the bridges, serving a romantic view of the city.

At night, you can enjoy the stunning view of the Dragon Bridge illuminated with colorful LED. Especially on every Saturday and Sunday evening, at 9pm, the dragon head ejects fire and spits out water in about 15 minutes. This show is so spectacular even to the locals that hundreds of people may gather and wait from 8:30 pm. So, though the show can be appreciated from nearby areas, if you want to have a close look, make sure to arrive on time.

Han River Bridge

Han River Bridge is known as a symbol of Da Nang. The special feature of this bridge is that at the midnight, no traffic is allowed to cross the Han River Bridge as it will swing on its axis, allowing ships to pass along the river. It is the first and only swing bridge in Vietnam at the moment. Seeing Han River Bridge swinging is a special moment for every first-time visitors to Da Nang. The swinging time From Monday to Friday, the bridge swings from 0 am to 1 am, and on the weekend, it happens from 11pm to 12pm.

Han Market

Han Market is one of the biggest shopping centers in Da Nang, where tourists can buy some gifts during their trip. Founded in the 1940s, it was formerly a market for the rich. Nowadays, it provides a variety of goods for everyone: clothing, fabrics, fresh and dried seafood. Visiting this place, you can also chat with the vendors to discover about the locals’ lifestyle.

Hoi An Ancient Town

Listed as one of the UNESCO world heritage sites, Hoi An Ancient Town is a must-visit destination for every tourist going to the South Central of Vietnam. Its picturesque natural beauty, the well-preserved old buildings telling stories about its history of evolution, all turn Hoi An into a great attraction to both local and foreign visitor.

The town is about 30 km far from Da Nang and you can easily plan a short trip to Hoi An within a day. Museum of Cham Sculpture

Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture was first built in 1915, and although it has been extended several times, the first building and the original style remain the same. This place presents a giant collection of Cham artifacts found in My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Thap Mam, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum and Binh Dinh. These sculptures can bring to you the knowledge and overview of the local life in the previous centuries. The museum is near the Dragon Bridge, opens from 7 am to 5 pm everyday and you will have to pay an entrance fee of 60,000 VND.

My Son Sanctuary

The My Son Sanctuary was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage in 1999. It was the most important architectural center of the Champa Kingdom, with more than 70 tower temples made of bricks and stones. These temples’ design illustrates the greatness and mystery of the sacred mountain home of Hindu gods, turning this place into a religious and political center of the Kingdom. Years of change have destroyed a lot of structures, but the remaining parts are preserved to tell you stories about a long lost unique culture. The My Son Sanctuary is about 60 km far from Da Nang. Marble Mountain Da Nang

One of the prominent traits in the Asian cultures is the existence and influence of five main elements: metal, water, wood, fire and earth. Located in the south, Marble Mountain Da Nang, also known as “five elements mountains”, contain five marble and limestone hills named after these elements. Among these, Thuy Son (water) is the highest and the main attraction. From the top of the mountain, you can get a breathtakingly beautiful overview of the city.

The tickets can be purchased from the mountain base, with price of 40,000 VND. Previously, you had to climb 150 steps to get to the observatory spot. Son Tra Peninsula

Known as the “blue pearl” of Da Nang, Son Tra Peninsula is a very attractive destination to visitors, especially the ones who enjoy wild nature and peaceful atmosphere. Driving for about 10 minutes from the city center, you will reach the peninsula, with the most noticeable feature being Linh Ung pagoda. This pagoda is situated on Bai But – which means Buddha place on earth. It is where heaven meets earth, believed to be a home of legend, sacred air and people’s hearts. Ba Na Hills Da Nang

Situating on a high mountain 30km far from the city, it is a mountaintop resort complex designed as a medieval castle. Ba Na Hills’ cable car, which is one of the most impressive cable car systems in the world, will take you to the French village on top. There are French-styled buildings and streets, the game center Fantasy Park inspired by adventurous novels of Jules Verne, and regular Carnival Festival taking place in the central square.
