Top Wildlife Destinations in Da Nang You Never Know

Rarely does an attraction in Vietnam have sea, mountains, rivers, and islands as that in Da Nang. Only the breathtaking scenery in Da Nang completely make this gorgeous city become the leading destination in Vietnam.

Discovering Danang has long been a great dream of tons of national and international tourists. However, instead of visiting famous locations such as Ba Na Hills, going to wildlife destinations may give visitors an enjoyable experience.

Cheap but funny. Check out the following list of unexploited locations in Danang! And, ready to join the adventure now!

Nam O Reef

Nam O Reef is located in the center of Nam O village in Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang- between Da Nang city and Hai Van pass. Nam O Reef is quite rich in algae, and it is the home to diverse species of seafood and fishes.

Come in the sunset to see the beach shining next to sandy beaches and beautiful rocks. After that, visitors can take a boat back to the West side along the Cu De River.

Then, feel free to visit the village of ethnic people named Ka-Tu in Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang District. Early morning is the best time for swimming in Nam O Reef. However, be careful of rocks to avoid slipping over them.

Rang beach

Rang beach is considered the most breathtaking and pristine beach in Son Tra peninsula which is about 5 km far from the city center. Visitors need 20 minutes in their motorbikes to come and fall right into the beauty of this natural location.

The rustic beach creates a sense of intimacy at first sight. Perfect with the beautiful sunset and fresh air in the morning. The rocks here can be seen in all sizes, colors, and shapes.

Coming to this place, tourists can attend snorkeling, coral reef tour, surfing by water motorbike or just sitting on the cliffs to watch over the sea. Those are enough for a great trip.

Starting from the modern center of Da Nang City, travelers only need more than ten minutes to find themselves going through the Linh Ung Pagoda to Rang beach. Leaving your motorbikes in the hill before reaching the shore may seem irritating.

Well of Heaven

An attractive tourist destination for young people. This place is precisely for those who love traveling and trekking. This place lies in a primitive forest in the West of Da Nang, in the middle of Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District.

Well of Heaven Da Nang

Near the top of the mountain, the Well of Heaven is all year round surrounded by trees and rocks. So, even in the hottest summer, the water in the lake is always cool. Nonetheless, the attraction is quite challenging and dangerous to reach.

The tricky obstacle on the road coming to the Well of Heaven makes it wild as ever. To seek the Well of Heaven, walk from the slope near the car parking area of Ba Na tourist area. Join the short trekking from Ba Na mountain instead of in 10 km long.

Hoa Trung Lake

20 km away from the city center, in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District, people can see peaceful Hoa Trung lake. It is an artificial lake providing daily water and irrigation for farmers in Hoa Son and Hoa Lien communes.

The attraction is surrounded by idyllic artificial floating islands, smooth green pastures, flat and undulating slopes. It is entirely suitable for picnic activities, holidays or night camping.

However, be aware of setting your foot on cow dung unexpectedly because the tranquil Hoa Trung lake has various buffaloes playing around it.

Phong Nam ancient village


Phong Nam Ancient Village is an unexploited tourist site of Da Nang. As the historical value of the city, its incredible beauty has been preserved since the ancient time.

Situated near the National Highway 1A in Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, Phong Nam village is just around 10 km away from the south-west of Da Nang city center.

Come here to experience the extensive green rice fields, the massive bamboo forest, hear the wind singing. However, this position may not have full facilities for you to rest through the nights. Don’t expect the supermarket there!

Dong Xanh-Dong Nghe lake

Dong Xanh- Dong Nghe lake can be found in Hoa Khuong commune-Hoa Vang district-Da Nang city. These two places are separated by Khe Ngang. From Khe Ngang downward, Dong Nghe appears as an irrigation works built in 1995.

To visit Dong Xanh – Dong Nghe, follow the National Highway 14B. The lake is incredibly covered by green grass and natural beauty. Visitors should come there with their beloved friends to joy fishing, rowing boat or exploring the cattle farm.

However, watch out of cattle dung if you don’t bring any spare shoes along.

Van Village

Here is a small village at the bottom of the Hai Van pass, in the south of the Chon Bay. Since this area is a tiny village separated from Danang City, it is only possible to come by boat from the middle of Hai Van Pass passing a railway track about 3km.

Van village still retains the peace and pristine. On the weekends, tons of guests visit Van village to organize fun camping and playing. This peaceful space can be found nowhere without dust, smoke.

Just fresh air and serene scenery. Mountain and sea. Reaching the tranquil village seems not too simple, but it is worth visiting.

Ghenh Bang

From the city center, go far about 20 km to meet Bang waterfall which is one of the few ecotourism spots in Danang preserving the original natural beauty. On Chay beach, sightseers will find themselves stepping on a narrow but shiny beach.

Remember to bring along the umbrellas because the road toward the waterfall is quite steep. It is quite perfect for diving to sightsee colorful coral reefs and herring fishes. Some “diving dust” may stick to your toe at any time.

May Treo Waterfall

Located in a primary forest of Hoa Ninh and Hoa Bac in Hoa Vang district, about 30 km on the west of Da Nang city, May Treo is one of the mystery destinations in Da Nang that has the natural beauty. The way leads to May Treo is quite dangerous and easy to be lost so no many tourists visit here.
